Shaded Light
Crystal rocks glimmer in the warmth of the sun
As the water trickles down the river.
I sit in shaded light thinking of you in memories
With a smile as a tear rolls down my cheek.
Masked in darkness, I can only feel my emptiness
When I know your love for me is gone.
As I listen to my heart howl the cries of torment,
I am reminded of my desolate childhood.
I survived all that was laid before and yet
I feel as if you hate me even more for living.
My shaded light surrounds me with the sounds
Of peace and hope for this is my place of love
Which I will not allow you to enter.
I have the strength to overcome any obstacle
Because of what you have bestowed on me in the past.
I thank you for making me stronger even though
I know your intentions were to weaken my spirit.
I am in shaded light where crystal rocks glimmer
Like the fire that burns deep within my soul.

Human Nature
We are prisoners of our own judgmental fears.
Searching for truth and acceptance.
In accordance to a higher force.
Salvation is nothing but a mere word.
Lost in the vocabulary of society.
Constantly seeking forgiveness in the eye of the beholder.
Never realizing the faults of one can be experienced by many.
We lose the true meaning of life in logical theories.
Casting sarcasm to the unknown.
Love manifests itself deep in the realms of the eternal soul.
While hatred is taught externally.
For the means of defining differences in society.
We confess mortal thoughts in hopes.
Of finding redemption for our evil deeds.
Mentally tormenting ourselves for not being perfect.
Never living the presence to its fullest.
We look over our shoulders, pondering thoughts of yesteryear.
We educate ourselves through society.
Never truly understanding...
That death is the greatest sacrifice of all.

Two for One Special
She walked along the ocean shore
seeking more than sea shells
I drifted along the sea shore
searching endlessly for the same
Looking down and never forward
We made our way to the middle
as the waves crashed against us
We gazed into each others eyes
As the sun was beginning to set
We stood smiling silently
as the water glimmered
in her deep blue eyes
Hand in hand with one sunset
Two walked away with one.
